Constable Country: Situated on the banks of the river Stour, Dedham and the Dedham Vale offer people the opportunity to personally experience the landscape made famous by artists like John Constable and Sir Alfred Munnings. Whether by foot or by boat, traversing down the multitude of walks and rides along the river it is easy to understand why this area has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visiting the many historic sites, like Flatford Mill and Willy Lots Cottage allow you to experience at first hand the many picturesque scenes made famous by John Constable and other artists.
In addition the many art galleries in the area (such as the Alfred Munnings Art Gallery) provide a great opportunity to see the works of some of the local artists and the various crafts shops offer great possibilities to find a unique souvenir.
The many historic villages and towns in East Anglia, such as Lavenham, Colchester and Sudbury, make for excellent places to sight-see, as well as provide shopping facilities and many excellent local restaurants for eating out.
For families with younger children, the beaches at Frinton and Clacton on Sea are only 30 minutes away. The award winning Colchester Zoo, as well as Jimmy's Farm provide great ways to keep children entertained.
For older children Colchester and Framlingham Castle make for fun, educational days out. For more active days on or around the water, Alton Waters is only 15-20 minutes away.

With Manningtree station less than 10 minutes down the road, Vinces
Barn provides an ideal location for accessing direct rail links to
London. The 60 minute journey via the main 2012 Olympics site at
Stratford makes for a great and relaxing way to get to the heart of the
capital for a days sight seeing.
With easy access to the A12 and main motorways, Vinces Barn also
offers an excellent base for day trips to some of the historic towns
and places of interest further afield in East Anglia. Cambridge,

|Situated just outside Colchester, Vinces Barn is easily accessible by road and only 5 minutes from the A12 and approx. 45 miles from the M25.
With many cheap airlines (incl. Easyjet and Ryanair) and all major car rental companies, London Stansted airport (45 mins drive) provides the best option for those people flying in.
For people coming by ferry, Harwich port is only 30 minutes down the road and Dover is under 2 hours drive away.
Direct trains from London regularly stop at Manningtree, from which a short ride with a local taxi can get you to the property.
Given the rural location it is recommended to ensure you have your own transport to get out and about once at the holiday let.
